About Gary

Dr. Trennepohl is an international authority on finance and is a proven leader in many domains (academics, civics, and industry). He received his PhD in Finance from Texas Tech University (1976) and has spent most of his career in academics as an endowed professor of finance and as a university leader. At AOE, we rely on Dr. Trennepohl’s expertise in finance and his sage wisdom to insure we are providing our clients the most scientifically valid and practically useful assessments. It is truly an honor to have Dr. Trennepohl on our advisory board. Some of his outstanding accomplishments include:

  • Professor emeritus of Finance at Oklahoma State University where he was the ONEOK Chair of Finance, the President’s Council Chair of Finance, and a Regent’s Professor
  • Former Inaugural President of Oklahoma State University – Tulsa; Dean of Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University, former dean of Mays Business School at Texas A&M, former head of Finance Departments at University of Missouri, Arizona State University, and Texas A&M
  • Secured public and private funding in excess of $60 million dollars
  • Currently sits on the boards of (or previously sat on): Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma, Chairman of the Affiliate Board of Directors for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma; Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System, Oklahoma State University Foundation; Economic Development Commission for the City of Tulsa, chaired in 2008; Tulsa Air and Space Museum, Board of Directors (Chair 2008-2010); Metro Tulsa Chamber of Commerce; Oklahoma Academy for State Goals; Leadership Oklahoma; Tulsa Area United Way; Oklahoma State University Foundation.
  • Published two finance text-books and over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles
  • Active leader and former President for the International Financial Management Association and Southwest Finance Association
